Today’s the Day: The Nature of Love Has Arrived!
I’m thrilled to share that my debut poetry collection, The Nature of Love, is officially available on Amazon here today!
I don't mind admitting that these past two years have been challenging and extremely difficult, but they have also offered me the opportunity for profound personal growth. Putting this collection together these past two months has been a deeply personal labour of love that has really helped me move forward, and its release feels like the perfect way to celebrate my 50th birthday. It also feels like a clean slate for the New Year.
Turning 50 has given me a moment to pause, reflect, and honour my journey so far. As I looked back on the poetry I have written over the past two decades, I realised how much the natural world has shaped my writing and, in so many ways, my understanding of life. Nature, with all its beauty, resilience, and quiet wisdom, has been my constant companion through moments of love, loss, joy, and growth.
With The Nature of Love, I wanted to bring together the poems closest to my heart—poems inspired by the elements that connect us all: the earth beneath our feet, the rivers that carry us forward, the storms we endure, and the skies that remind us to dream. These verses explore the full spectrum of human emotion—love, family, heartbreak, hope, and the quiet strength that sees us through.
This collection isn’t just a celebration of nature but a reflection of the ways it mirrors our lives. Each poem is a piece of my journey—often painful, always (up till now) private—written to hopefully now resonate with yours.
